Le top 10 de Françoise en août 1965

Alors en août 65 Françoise accorde une interview au magazine anglais "NME" et livre le classement de ses 10 chansons préférées du moment, avec quelques commentaires.

1/ The Rolling Stones - Play with fire : This is such a good group and I think this record is great. It's really so dramatic

2/ Elvis Presley - Are you lonesome tonight ? : I have always loved Elvis but I prefer his slow songs to the rockers.

3/ Martha and the Vandellas - Nowhere to run by : This is one of the best female group i have heard. I think this is their best record

4/ Sound Orchestral - Cast your fate to the wind : I like it because it is so musical

5/ The Beatles - Things we say today : The best song they have written

6/ Bob Dylan - She belongs to me : I like Dylan because he puts so much feeling in his music

7/ Dionne Warwick - Is there another way to love : She's so sincere

8/ Little Anthony - Goin' out of my head : Wonderful number. The arrangement is fantastic

9/ Righteous Brothers - You've lost that lovin' feeling : They have wonderful voices so is the arrangement

10/ Richard Anthony - Crying in the rain : It makes me sad sometimes but a very good record

Not bad, not bad at all. Eight of them are beyond any doubt, their star is still shining. But Little Anthony? Mwahh. And then the other Anthony, Richard. Maybe she wanted to be nice to a nice person. But I suppose she preferred and prefers the original version of The Everly Brothers, who she always loved.

At a time when there were so many superb British and American releases in the charts it seems odd to chose an English recording by Richard Anthony.

En France, cette chanson a été un succès de radio en français (Et j'irai pleurer sous la pluie, si je ne me trompe pas) et en anglais pour Richard Anthony, et sur scène il la chantait moitié / moitié.
Moi, ce qui me surprend c'est surtout Sound Orchestral. C'était de la typique musique d'ascenseur ...........il faut dire qu'on l'entendait tellement souvent sur les quatre radios que ça en devenait insupportable (comme plus tard No milk to day ou l'eté indien).
